Julian Sands

Tonight we meet one of the most distinctive members of our horror royalty, Julian Sands! One of his earliest roles was as Laurence Huninger in "After Darkness" (Sergio Guerraz & Dominique Othenin-Girard, 1985), a disturbed young man whose suicidal fantasies threaten to take his family down with him. He takes on the role of Shelley in the historical horror fiction "Gothic" (Ken Russell, 1986) in a retelling of the famous writing competition that spawned the horror fiction genre. In one of his most famous roles, he plays a time-jumping warlock on the run from a witch hunter in "Warlock" (Steve Miner, 1989) and "Warlock: the Armageddon" (Anthony Hickox, 1993). The cult classic horror comedy "Arachnophobia" (Frank Marshall, 1990) features Julian as a naturalist who unwittingly brings a deadly spider back from an expedition. In "Tale of a Vampire" (Shimako Sato, 1992), he plays a lovelorn vampire tormented by a broken heart. He has his turn at a Stephen King story in the TV miniseries "Rose Red" (Craig R. Baxley, 2002) playing one of a group of people investigating a haunted house.
