Mixed Nuts

Today got a little wacky, so we present our favorite off-the-wall Christmas movie, "Mixed Nuts" (Nora Ephron, 1994), starring Steve Martin, Madeline Kahn, Rita Wilson, Liev Shrieber, Juliette Lewis, Gary Shandling, and Adam Sandler. Philip is having a pretty bad Christmas. He gets into an accident on the way into work, his fiancée leaves him for her psychiatrist slash boyfriend, and the landlord has evicted his nonprofit suicide hotline from the building. Add to that a lovelorn coworker, a cranky boss stuck in the elevator, a suicidal cross-dresser, a musical neighbor, a gun-toting Santa, and a pregnant beautician, and you'll be needing the hotline number yourself!
