In lieu of me participating this week in The Sunday Post, I thought at the very least I would do a monthly wrap up/two week catch up. It’s been a while and a lot of exciting things have happened that I wanted to share.
Last week on Tuesday, I went to Illinois for Leigh Bardugo’s tour stop for Crooked Kingdom! I think this book event was my most anticipated one for this Fall, because other than the fact that Bardugo is one of my favorite authors in general, I really enjoyed reading Six of Crows last year when it came out and was looking forward to the next book (it's a duology).
Leigh did something really neat on this tour, which was that she handed out a card to each person who came to her signing line. You had to randomly pick one, and if you happened to get Wylan you won a signed poster (which if you've seen online already, it's definitely one everyone wanted). My friend and fellow blogger Kristen was teasing me the whole time because I was determined to pick Wylan. There were only 6 posters and 100+ people there for the signing. Well the first card I picked was a crow, which means you get to pick a second card. When I picked the second card I freaked out because guess what: it was Wylan! Only it stinks because she ran out of the posters RIGHT before I got up there! It was a bummer, but hey, I still picked the card like I said! Needless to say, Kristen and me were laughing about it the rest of the night.
Speaking of which (or whom, I should say), Kristen is a doll and surprised me with some fun bookish presents for my birthday! She got me this totally awesome ACOMAF phone case from my favorite Society 6 Designer, Evie Seo (if you haven't checked her out before, you should! Her designs for every book series are incredible) and a candle from NovellyYours! The candle smells AMAZING and the coolest part? It was the Wraith from Six of Crows:) Thanks Kristen!!
Besides working Monday-Friday and going to school full time, I've been extra busy because my goddaughter was born! She is an absolute doll and I have loved getting to spend time with her and her mom, my best friend, whenever I have some free time.
My birthday was this past Friday, so I got to celebrate with my family and friends which was a blast! My sister came home for the weekend and I got to see her as well, so I couldn't have asked for a better day. I had to share with you guys though one of my gifts: this SUPER awesome Harry Potter light switch cover that one of my friends sent me in the mail. It's handmade from an Etsy store and I absolutely love it!
This week is National Tutoring Week, so I'm extra busy playing Santa to all our wonderful staff! I have a bunch of surprises up my sleeve for our tutors and I can't wait for them to find them all this week.
