Waiting on Wednesday (15)

Waiting on Wednesday is a featured post hosted by Breaking the Spine that discusses upcoming releases that bloggers are excited about.

This week's book I am looking forward to in 2017 is:

Author: Alexandra Bracken
Expected Release Date: January 3rd, 2017
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion

All Etta Spencer wanted was to make her violin debut when she was thrust into a treacherous world where the struggle for power could alter history. After losing the one thing that would have allowed her to protect the Timeline, and the one person worth fighting for, Etta awakens alone in an unknown place and time, exposed to the threat of the two groups who would rather see her dead than succeed. When help arrives, it comes from the last person Etta ever expected—Julian Ironwood, the Grand Master’s heir who has long been presumed dead, and whose dangerous alliance with a man from Etta’s past could put them both at risk.

Meanwhile, Nicholas and Sophia are racing through time in order to locate Etta and the missing astrolabe with Ironwood travelers hot on their trail. They cross paths with a mercenary-for-hire, a cheeky girl named Li Min who quickly develops a flirtation with Sophia. But as the three of them attempt to evade their pursuers, Nicholas soon realizes that one of his companions may have ulterior motives.

As Etta and Nicholas fight to make their way back to one another, from Imperial Russia to the Vatican catacombs, time is rapidly shifting and changing into something unrecognizable… and might just run out on both of them.

  1. I still need to read book one! I love Bracken, especially her Darkest Minds trilogy.

    1. It's really good! The only concern I had going into Passenger was some of the historical elements (it's time traveling through history) because I'm not a huge history buff or fan (normally why i stay away from historical fiction) but i ended up really liking it! I hope you get a chance to read it Lauren!

  2. I still need to read The Darkest Minds trilogy! My husband has even read it and actually met Alexandra at ApollyCon and got the books signed (while I was waiting in line for Jennifer Armentrout). She's actually the reason I got ACOTAR signed by SJM. I was *still* in line for JLA and Robert tried to get ACOTAR signed but it was way late in the day and SJM had just closed down her table. He ran into Alexandra again and they were talking about his shirt (it said "Book Bodyguard" on it) and called SJM over to see it. And Robert was all, "My wife is going to kill me because your table closed before I could get her books signed." LOL So SJM signed them right there. Go Robert! :) But I give Alexandra total credit for calling SJM over. :)

    1. SAME! I have book 1 on my kindle and at one point i started it but haven't made much progress since. And points to your husband once again! Both for reading the book AND standing in line for you! and OMG i love that story of how Robert met Alexandra and got Sarah to sign them!

  3. I didn't know this already had a cover! Where have I been?! I haven't read Passenger yet, but I've been wanting to so badly.

    1. I'm not sure when it was released, but it's been out for at least a few months now! I'm sad because i wasn't able to snatch a bookmark for it from BookCon! They ran out before I could.
I hope you get to read Passenger at some point Genesis because it's really good!
