Waiting on Wednesday (5)

Waiting on Wednesday is a featured post hosted by Breaking the Spine that discusses upcoming releases that bloggers are excited about.

This week's book I am looking forward to in 2016 is:
Lucky for me that I don't have much longer to wait for this one! Cassandra Clare is by far one of my favorite authors and I've read everything by her! In fact, one whole shelf of my bookshelves at home is dedicated to all of her writing!

Author: Cassandra Clare
Expected Release Date: March 8th, 2016
Publisher: Margaret K. McElderry Books
Pages: 720

Los Angeles. It’s been five years since the events of the Mortal Instruments when Nephilim stood poised on the brink of oblivion and Shadowhunter Emma Carstairs lost her parents. After the blood and violence she witnessed as a child, Emma has dedicated her life to to discovering exactly what it was that killed her parents and getting her revenge.

Raised in the Los Angeles Institute with the Blackthorn family, Emma is paired as a parabatai with her best friend, Julian Blackthorn. A series of murders in the city catch her attention — they seem to have the same characteristics as the deaths of her parents. Could the murderer be the same person? And her attention isn’t the only one caught: someone has been murdering Downworlders as well. The Fair Folk make a deal with the Institute: if the Blackthorns and Emma will investigate the killings, they’ll return Mark Blackthorn to his home. The catch: they have only two weeks to find the killers. Otherwise it’s open war between faeries and Nephilim.

The Shadowhunters of the Institute must race against time to catch the killers, even as they begin to suspect the involvement of those closest to them. At the same time, Emma is falling in love with the one person in the world she’s absolutely forbidden by Shadowhunter Law to love. Set against the glittering backdrop of present-day Los Angeles, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches from the warlock-run nightclubs of the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica.

  1. Novels of revenge are always interesting. Nice choice!

    1. I'm excited to pick up where we left off in the last Mortal Instruments book! I missed the shadowhunter world!
Thanks for stopping by my blog Whitney!

  2. I can't wait for this one either Emily, especially with the Shaowhunters series on TV at the moment. Are these the characters that were introduced in the last Mortal Instruments installment? I started to read the finale, but having so many new characters thrown in and I just couldn't get into it and put it down. I'm going to try to pick it back up and give it a quick read before this one comes out now. Arrrrgh, so excited! Awesome choice! <3

    1. Yes they are! which is why i'm so excited to finally read more about them! plus i miss the shadowhunter world! it's been too long!
oh no i can't believe you had a hard time with the last book in the mortal instruments! i absolutely loved that one despite its lengthiness! i hope when you give it another shot that you enjoy it!
have you been watching the TV show? i have, even though it's a tad cheesy! i'm still enjoying it!
thanks for stopping by as always!:)

    1. no problem! and thanks for returning the favor Eva! happy reading!

  4. Books without a long wait are always the best! WoW

    1. couldn't agree more! PLUS then I am less likely to forget the details in the series or from the previous book! if i have to wait more than a year i nearly always forget a good portion of the story!
      thanks for stopping by Leeanna!

  5. I think I'll be skipping this one! I know many people are really excited about the book, and I love the cover, but I'm done with this series/world. :) I hope you enjoy this book when you read it!

Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful week. :)

Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!

    1. oh no! i'm bummed to hear you say that because I really love the shadowhunter world! but to each their own!
thanks for stopping by Alyssa happy reading!

  6. I actually haven't decided if I'm going to pick this one up and continue on with the Shadowhunter world. I know, I know! Don't throw anything at me! lol I completely loved the Infernal Devices trilogy and The Mortal Instruments series but for me *those* were the characters. And I'm not sure I want to start basically a new series with (mostly) new people. I'm reading mostly NA and romance these days so I might let this one pass for now and see if my mood changes later.
