Top Ten Tuesday (6)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish

Top Ten Books To Read If You're In The Mood To Laugh
1. The Raven Cycle Series by Maggie Stiefvater
-On their own, the boys might not be that funny but throw them all together (say in a fancy car that they're constantly having to fix) and you're guaranteed a few laughs.  This whole series was one I found myself chuckling at throughout!
2. The Splintered Series by A. G. Howard
-Oh Morpheus. *sigh. I really need another reread of this series soon!
3. Cress by Marissa Meyer
-Captain Thorne, ready for duty!
4. Joyride by Anna Banks
-The pranking scenes with Arden and Carly gave me a good laugh, but what REALLY made me crack up big time was when Carly put Arden in his place on more than one occasion, especially at the beginning of the book when they first start talking. Arden's so used to getting his way that when Carly refuses to give him the time of day despite his best efforts to convince her otherwise, I couldn't help but laugh at how dumbfounded and frustrated he was.  Talk about making the man work for it!
5. When Joss Met Matt by Ellie Cahill
-The whole arrangement between Matt and Joss makes for some really hilarious scenes throughout the story and I couldn't help but laugh on more than once occassion when they were discussing the "contract" they made. If you're in the mood for a lightweight and funny romance, this one is the book for you!
6. The Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare
-The whole reason "funny" comes to mind when I think of this series is Jace.  Honestly, his sarcastic attitude makes a majority of the scenes he's in (even some of the serious ones) downright hilarious! There were more than one life or death situations throughout the series during which I was on the edge of my seat reading the book, and all of a sudden Jace would smart off and I would find myself laughing uncontrollably. I love Jace!
7. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard
-Safi and Izzy's friendship is cute but so funny to read! Their witty banter was one of my favorite parts about their relationship in the book.
8. Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Portes
-Two words: Anika Dragomir
9. Last Will and Testament (Radleigh University #1) by Dahlia Adler
10. To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
-Lara Jean folks.

  1. What a fun take on this week's theme! I totally agree with TMI. I loved Jace's sarcasm and his snarky comments. The back and forth between he and Simon was priceless. :)

    2. I watched the first 2 episodes and that was kind f it for me. It was feeling super cheesy. I wasn't impressed with the casting for either Jace or Clary, and a lot of the dialogue was just... cringe-worthy. lol The only real standout to me was Simon. That guy nailed it! How about you - are you watching?

    3. yes! i enjoy it, although it isn't spectacular. initially i had a hard time watching it because i wasn't that impressed with the casting especially because I liked Lily Collins so much for the movie that I had a hard time with the new girl for the show. but it's growing on me! i agree though alot of the dialogue is cheesy at best lol

    4. I probably should have stuck with it... I'm sure plenty of shows have a rocky start. After several episodes they've settled into their roles and all, but in all honesty I probably won't watch again. I rarely ever watch TV anyway so it has to be something truly awesome to make me tune in. :)
